The results are in for the Montgomery Advertiser's poll presented by the Vance Law Firm, for which Montgomery-area high school football has the best preseason odds to win a championship.
The poll ran from July 19-23, with readers given the option to vote once every hour.
According to readers, the high school football team in the River Region with the best preseason odds is Class 5A's Pike Road. The Patriots are coming off a 10-3 season, one in which Pike Road advanced to the third round of the playoffs.
The Patriots lost critical pieces on the defensive side of the ball to graduation, but will return quarterback Gunner Gibbs, and senior running back Quinton Robinson will be looking to put himself on the map.
The Patriots dominated the poll, netting 86% of the votes. Montgomery Academy and Prattville followed with 9% and 1% of the votes, respectively.
