The high school football season in the Montgomery-area is about to heat up with the start of fall camps beginning for most teams at the end of July after the AHSAA All-Star week concludes.

The season will feature a new look when it comes to the postseason with the AHSAA splitting championship play in January. The split created two private school divisions, and two private school championships under the AHSAA.

The Montgomery-area features private schools in the Single A and Double AA divisions, presenting the opportunity for three possible championships when it comes to the River Region.

The Montgomery Advertiser wants to know from its readers, which Montgomery-area AHSAA football team has the best odds to win a championship in 2026 with a readers poll presented by The Vance Law Firm.

The poll will open on Sunday, July 19, and run through Thursday, July 23. Readers will have the chance to vote once per hour, with the results being announced on Friday, July 24.
