SHARON — Two new squads will represent District 10 at the PIAA team wrestling championships.
Neither program is a stranger to Pennsylvania’s biggest high school boys' wrestling stage.
Top-seeded Reynolds defeated No. 2 General McLane, 47-20, in the D-10 Class 2A final Jan. 31 at Sharon High School. It marked Reynolds’ 22nd title since the D-10 team tournament's 1999 inception.
Equally fateful were each side's semifinal wins. Those ensured both advanced to the PIAA Class 2A team first round on Feb. 3.
Reynolds handled No. 4 Corry, 40-24, while McLane edged No. 3 Cathedral Prep, 32-31. Here's who stood out in those matches and more Jan. 31.

Cathedral Prep immediately flipped the script on General McLane.
Bode Terry (189 pounds) and Omar Arrington (215), both of whom lost at McLane in a December dual, started the rematch with victories. Max Spaulding, who missed the December matchup due to illness, then pinned his heavyweight opponent and put Prep ahead by 12.
Prep forfeited at 107 before a Mason Gregor reversal with 15 seconds remaining landed the Ramblers a win at 114. After GM forfeited to Davion Edmond at 121, the lead was 21-6.
Lancer wins by Logan Radke (127) and Yefraim Sadchikov (133), plus a forfeit to Mason McDonald at 139, shifted the score to a two-point McLane advantage. Things really turned in GM’s favor, though, when Clay Kimmy won by injury default at 152 during the third period of a match he led, 2-0.
Kimmy’s win put McLane ahead by four. Peter Sadchikov then clinched the win with a 6-3 decision at 160 pounds, allowing the Lancers to forfeit at 172 with victory secured.
“We talk about momentum in dual meets, and the momentum wasn’t our way to start that dual meet,” McLane coach Spencer Nagy said. “But we figured it out, started winning matches and built upon that.”

Four pins helped Reynolds run away from McLane in a Class 2A final which started at 215 pounds. Rocky Floch (285), Parker Grosse (114), Logan Stewart (127) and Chris Elliott (160) each won by fall while Colton Tupper (215), Waylon Waite (121) and Greyden Gustas (145) each recorded a technical fall.
Major decisions from Tino Sciullo (133) and Emery Johnson (189) ensured that all nine of Reynolds’ victories included bonus points.
“The kids came with the right mindset and perspective that it was going to be a tough day,” Reynolds head coach Casey Taylor said. “I didn’t expect to win by that margin in the finals and semis. I think our kids rose to the occasion.”
Reynolds’ tournament started with a 70-6, quarterfinal victory over No. 8 Sharpsville.
Emery Johnson started the Raiders' semifinal win over Corry with a 6-5 victory at 189. They pinned five of their next six opponents, constructing a 36-point lead before Logan Willis’ 133-pound victory put Corry on the board.
Corry defeated No. 5 Fort LeBoeuf, 36-26, in the quarterfinals. Prep beat No. 6 Grove City, 48-30, and McLane beat No. 7 Hickory, 43-27.
Reynolds will open the PIAA Class 2A tournament at D-9 champion Clearfield, which McLane defeated, 32-28, on Jan. 17. McLane will travel to D-6 champion Bishop McCort and wrestle a preliminary match against D-7’s McGuffey to determine who will compete against the hosts.

Harbor Creek fell just short of a PIAA Class 3A tournament berth. The Huskies fell to DuBois, 33-28, in the D-9/10 sub-regional final.
DuBois, the lone D-9 entrant, opened with a semifinal victory against Warren. A late stretch of four consecutive Beavers’ wins from 139 to 160 pounds helped them squeak out a win.
Early pins from Bryan Curry (285) and Mason Wieczorek (107) gave Harbor Creek an early lead after starting at 215. A win by decision from Lyle Carnes and a pin by Jacob Luna put the Huskies ahead by seven points before four fateful defeats.
