Texas A&M left no doubt on Saturday night, rolling past Texas State 17–2 behind a dominant outing from Weston Moss and a relentless offensive surge from the Aggie lineup.
Facing a must‑win scenario in the double‑elimination regional, the Aggies delivered their most complete performance of the postseason. Moss was the story, working 7.1 innings and allowing just two runs, a massive breakthrough for a staff that has struggled to get length from its starters in recent weeks. It marked the first time in a while that an A&M starter pushed deep into a game without putting the Aggies in an early hole.
The offense matched the moment. All nine starters recorded at least one hit, and A&M strung together timely swings throughout the night to bury the Bobcats early. Just as important, the Aggies preserved their bullpen for Sunday’s final, a luxury few teams enjoy this late in a regional.
Now A&M gets a long rest while waiting for the winner of Sunday evening’s Texas State/USC elimination game. Whoever emerges will need to beat the Aggies twice to steal the regional, a tall task given how locked‑in A&M looked on Saturday. If the Maroon & White replicate anything close to this performance, they’ll be booking a trip to a Super Regional.
