Texas A&M ended the regular season with 39 wins, including 18 in SEC play, and after missing the NCAA Tournament last season, second-year coach Michael Earley led his veteran squad back to the postseason, surprising many in the Aggie fan base who felt he should have been relieved of his duties last offseason.

After being named the 12-seed and earning a hosting spot in the Regional Round, the Aggies will return to Blue Bell Park for a Friday afternoon matchup vs. Lamar, while USC will face Texas State in the College Station Regional. Just two years ago, former head coach Jim Schlossnagle led the Aggies all the way to the national title games before losing to Tennessee, just weeks before his dramatic departure to take over the Texas Longhorns' program.

This season has been a rollercoaster for Texas A&M's thin pitching staff, led by a starting pitching rotation that has struggled outside of sophomore Aiden Sims, who finished the regular season with an 8-1 record and the best ERA on the team. However, Sims has been dealing with tightness, missing the final regular-season series vs. Mississippi State.

Still, Texas A&M's offense finished the regular season with 114 home runs, led by Caden Sorrell (23) and Gavin Grahovac (19), while starting third baseman Nico Partida's injury resulted in the star freshman missing the last two series, but he is officially back in the lineup heading into Friday's game.

On Thursday, Earley revealed that Shane Sdao (4-4 record, 6.75 ERA, 1.59 WHIP in 68.0 IP) will take the mound, and while the junior has struggled this season, Earley is completely confident that his starter will get the job done in the postseason.

Before Friday's 3:00 p.m. game, here are our final Aggies Wire predictions for the College Station Regional.
