Two programs with championship pedigrees will look to add another trophy Monday as Hawaii faces UC Irvine in the NCAA men's volleyball final
It's no surprise to see the Rainbow Warriors (29-5) in the championship match; they were the tournament's second seed and had little trouble dispatching USC and defending champion Long Beach State to reach the final. The Anteaters (21-8), meanwhile, are on a bit of an underdog run. They took out top seed UCLA in the regional finals and No. 4 seed Ball State in the national semis.
Hawaii will be looking for its first national championship since going back-to-back in 2022 and 2023. UCI pulled the same feat a decade earlier, winning in 2012 and 2013 for the most recent of its four titles.
These two faced off during the regular season, with Hawaii winning a pair of matches in Irvine in early April. Who will prevail when the stakes are highest?
