The next generation of baseball talent is ready to hear their names called and begin their journeys to the big leagues.
The 2026 MLB Draft is scheduled for Saturday, July 11, and Sunday, July 12, in Philadelphia. The first four rounds take place on Day 1 and rounds 5-20 on Day 2. The Chicago White Sox have the first overall pick.
For the Milwaukee Brewers, the draft is one way to continue building and growing their top-ranked farm system. The Brewers will have to make their picks count in 2026 since they only have two selections in the first 100 picks and four overall on the first day. Their first pick is at No. 25.
Last year’s first-round pick Andrew Fischer appears poised for big things as the 22-year-old has already been promoted to Class AA after the power hitting third baseman tore through the lower level.
If he keeps it up, Fischer will keep climbing the ladder toward the majors like previous first-round picks did in Brice Turang (2018), Garrett Mitchell (2020) and Sal Frelick (2021). All are starters for the Brewers and have contributed on playoff teams.
But the Brewers also know All-Star players and high-level prospects can be found beyond round 1. Two-time All-Star pitcher and leading Cy Young Award candidate Jacob Misiorowski was a second-round pick just three years ago and recently-promoted shortstop Cooper Pratt was a sixth-round pick two years ago.
Here’s what to know about the draft, including start time, where to watch, the Brewers’ picks and recent history:
The draft begins Saturday, July 11, at 12:30 p.m. CT with the first four rounds. The draft continues Sunday, July 12 at 10:30 a.m. with the fifth through 20th rounds.
NBC will televise the first 10 picks on Saturday, July 11, with streaming on Peacock. Picks 11 through 40 will be aired on the MLB Network and streamed on MLB.com, MLB.TV and MLB+. Picks 41-135 will be streamed on MLB.com, MLB.TV and MLB+.
The second day of the draft, Sunday, July 12, will be streamed on MLB.com, MLB.TV and MLB+.
The Brewers have four picks on the first day and one in each round on the second day (the 28th pick of each round). Here are the first-day picks:
The Brewers also had a "competitive balance" pick in the second round, No. 67, but traded it to Boston on Feb. 9 along with Caleb Durbin, Andruw Monasterio and Anthony Seigler for left-handers Kyle Harrison, Shane Drohan and infielder David Hamilton. All teams that have either one of the 10 smallest markets or 10 smallest revenue pools receive an additional pick at the end of the first or second round, and that's where this pick initially came from for the Brewers. The groups of teams alternate between the two rounds each year.
