Several teams from the state of Florida are expected to be named when the 2026 NCAA tournament brackets are unveiled on March 15.
One of those teams may be the South Florida Bulls. They have spent this week in Birmingham, Alabama, for the American Conference tournament, and find themselves in the title game after the 86-64 win over Charlotte in the semifinal on Saturday.
Now at 24-8, USF will now take on Wichita State for the tournament championship and the automatic bid into the Big Dance. Leading the Bulls is the American Conference's Player of the Year, Defensive Player of the Year and Newcomer of the Year Izaiyah Nelson. The 6-foot-10 Arkansas State transfer averaged nearly 16 points and 10 rebounds this season to go with nearly 1.5 blocks per game. But it was fellow starters Wes Enis and Joseph Pinion who scored 24 points each on Saturday.
The Bulls have won 10 straight, but in a mid-major conference, is their resume good enough to get into the NCAA tournament?
