LSU baseball swept South Carolina over the weekend, but it didn't do much for the Tigers' RPI. Per Warren Nolan, LSU is still outside the top-50, sitting No. 55 in the latest RPI rankings.

Jay Johnson's squad is 28-21 overall and 9-15 in conference play. LSU is only 4-13 vs quad one opponents, while also having five losses vs quad four opponents. The lack of good wins and surplus of bad losses doesn't make for a good resume. If the NCAA Tournament began tomorrow, LSU would be on the outside looking in.

Still, all hope is not lost. LSU needed to go 3-0 vs. South Carolina and did. That put the Tigers back in the bubble conversation as we enter the final stretch of the regular season.

LSU has a chance to make a statement this weekend. LSU travels to Georgia to face the SEC-leading Bulldogs. If LSU can take two of three in Athens, LSU will be back in the tournament projections a week from now. After Georgia, LSU meets Florida for a three-game series before the SEC Tournament.

LSU's remaining schedule doesn't lack opportunity. If this young LSU team can squeeze a few quality wins, LSU will crawl back into the NCAA Tournament.
