The Miami Heat's odds of landing LeBron James surged after a YouTube snafu sent social media into a frenzy earlier this week. That hasn't changed much, as it seems fans aren't buying the fact that it was just a post being prepared for the hypothetical chance that James opts to sign with the Heat. However, while the Heat remain the frontrunner on prediction markets like Kalshi, another team has been slowly climbing of late: the Golden State Warriors.
Following the instantly viral YouTube post that has since been taken down, the odds look similar. Here's a look at the breakdown of the odds on LeBron James' free agency from Kalshi on Wednesday morning:
Arguably, the most interesting part of the overnight change in odds isn't the Heat; it's that only one team saw its odds increase.

Of the four teams listed above, the Heat, Cavaliers and 76ers surprisingly all saw their odds fall overnight after a chaotic Wednesday in the LeBron James free agency race. However, the Warriors were the lone team to begin climbing back into the mix—slowly but surely.
Typically, a three percent increase in a team's chances wouldn't be all that noteworthy. However, considering the odds of each of the other teams fell slightly, and the Warriors were the lone team to enter Thursday trending in the right direction, it adds some intrigue to the storyline.
There hasn't been anything drastic that surfaced relating to the Warriors that would realistically lead to this climb, either. While it's not the kind of move that's worth raising eyebrows over just yet, if it continues into Friday, it'll make for an interesting topic heading into the weekend. If Golden State can narrow the gap between itself and the Cavaliers, there may be some reason to buy into the hype of a late free agency surge from Steve Kerr's squad.
