LeBron James could be coming back to South Beach. The latest odds for James' next team have swung in the Miami Heat's direction, with Erik Spoelstra's squad sitting at 52%.
There's no concrete reporting to justify the shift, but two signs point in the Heat's favor. James reminisced on his "unbelievable" time with the Heat at Fanatics Fest, plus Heat president Pat Riley has been open about his interest in a reunion.
James' future has been a hot topic of conversation from the moment he announced his departure from the Los Angeles Lakers in late June. The Cleveland Cavaliers, Golden State Warriors and Heat have all been in the running, with the Heat seemingly in the lead now.
The Heat would be a fantastic fit for James from a basketball perspective, let alone his established ties to the Miami area. Giannis Antetokounmpo, Bam Adebayo, Davion Mitchell and Andrew Wiggins are all standout defenders, so James wouldn't have to expend much energy on that end. Plus, the Heat need playmaking as Mitchell is more of an off-ball point guard, so James has more of an opportunity to run the offense there than in Cleveland or Golden State.
