The preseason has officially begun, and the preseason division rankings are coming in fast. The Minnesota Vikings will be one of the most talked-about teams this cycle, as they made a quarterback change this week and their defense underwent a major overhaul this offseason. Let's check in with Bleacher Report and see where Moe Moton has Minnesota placing.

Moton has Minnesota finishing third in the division, with a record of 9-8, which would match their record from a season ago. Here is his reason why:

As the Vikings' starting quarterback, Kyler Murray has a chance to write his redemption story in Minnesota as Sam Darnold did two years ago. If Murray stays healthy, he could post career numbers with Justin Jefferson, Jordan Addison and Jauan Jennings as his cast of receivers. Play-caller Brian Flores molded the Vikings defense into a top-10 unit in scoring and total yards. This team has offensive and defensive balance, but Murray's injury history raises concerns. Since 2021, he's only played one full season. We may see J.J. McCarthy start a few games, and those will be losses.

This is right around where many NFL analysts project the Vikings to finish in 2026. I have Minnesota finishing 10-7, but this could be a very volatile season for Minnesota. Their ceiling is exponentially higher with Kyler Murray at the helm, but the floor is marginally higher than what we saw last season. Expect Minnesota to be must-watch in 2026, as we don't know what to expect.
