The Tampa Bay Buccaneers have elite offensive talent, and they also have plenty of questions surrounding star quarterback Baker Mayfield. That uncertainty likely explains why Fox Sports ranked Tampa Bay's quarterback supporting cast No. 18 overall entering the 2026 season, placing the Buccaneers squarely in the middle tier across the NFL. The ranking highlights a roster that still features intriguing pieces around quarterback Baker Mayfield, but one carrying enough concerns to prevent Tampa Bay from climbing significantly higher. The biggest change? Life after Mike Evans. For more than a decade, Evans served as one of the NFL's most dependable wide receivers and a foundational pillar of Tampa Bay's offense. His departure creates a massive void, not only statistically but also in terms of leadership and identity.
Fox Sports acknowledged that reality, noting that Evans wasn't quite the dominant force last season that Buccaneers fans had grown accustomed to seeing, but the organization hopes Emeka Egbuka helps soften that blow. Tampa Bay drafted Egbuka, believing his route-running ability, versatility, and explosiveness could eventually help replace some of what Evans brought to the offense. Still, concerns surrounding Egbuka's late-season production decline during his rookie campaign. The Buccaneers may also need Chris Godwin to reclaim WR1 form. When healthy, Godwin remains one of football's better all-around wide receivers. Availability, however, remains the bigger question. Injuries have limited the veteran wideout significantly over the past two seasons, creating uncertainty surrounding exactly what Tampa Bay can expect entering 2026.
The same concerns apply to the running game.
Bucky Irving flashed significant upside as a rookie, showcasing explosiveness and big-play ability whenever opportunities arrived. Injuries limited his availability, however, and he never fully seized control of Tampa Bay’s backfield before Rachaad White departed. New offensive coordinator Zac Robinson now carries the responsibility of solving that puzzle
