The expectations are still very high for Notre Dame football in 2025, even after falling short to Ohio State in the College Football Championship game.

The Irish return plenty of star power including running back Jeremiyah Love and cornerback Leonard Moore. Others are on the verge of stardom, and the collection of talent is enough for Fox Sports Joel Klatt to have the Irish as his No. 6 team prior to fall camp.

It’s a good spot for Notre Dame, but one that could surely rise as the season gets closer. One of those reasons is at quarterback, as the Irish have yet to name a starter, but it will be one of either Kenny Minchey or CJ Carr.

Other teams in Klatt’s top-10 also have quarterback questions, as more than half of them don’t return a starter. The former Colorado quarterback is one of the most well respected analysts in the country, and if Klatt thinks that Notre Dame is a top contender this year, then it should be a very good sign for things to come.
