NORMAN — Oklahoma football owns plenty of stars in the EA Sports College Football 27 video game.

The third iteration of the game since it was discontinued over a decade ago released Thursday and the Sooners had three players ranked in the top 100.

Defensive lineman David Stone, cornerback Eli Bowen and wide receiver Isaiah Sategna III were ranked as the No. 13, No. 91 and No. 98-ranked players, respectively, in the video game. Stone is rated 94 overall, while Bowen and Sategna both came in at 90 overall.

Quarterback John Mateer was rated as the 10th best quarterback in the game at 89 overall. Mateer ranks as the fourth best quarterback in the SEC behind Mississippi’s Trinidad Chambliss, Texas’ Arch Manning and LSU’s Sam Leavitt.

Mateer had an up-and-down first season in Norman that saw him throw 14 touchdowns and 11 interceptions, while battling a hand injury. But after a strong spring and based on the clips that circulated from the Manning Passing Academy, expectations are sky-high for Year 2.

Stone, the top rated defensive tackle in the game, owns ratings of 94 strength and 87 awareness. The Del City native played in all 13 games and made two starts last season, leading all defensive tackles on the team with 42 total tackles.

At 6-foot-3, 315 pounds, Stone is projected to be one of the best defensive linemen in the country this season and a first-round pick in the 2027 NFL Draft.

Bowen boasts 93 speed, 90 agility, 92 change of direction and 88 awareness. Mateer owns 92 acceleration, 95 toughness and 92 throw on the run.

Which OU football players could see their ratings rise?

It’s easy to point out players who might’ve deserved better ratings. Peyton Bowen and Wein immediately come to mind.

Bowen is an athletic freak who was named to the All-SEC Second Team last season after registering 47 tackles, one tackle for loss, two interceptions and a team-high seven pass breakups. Wein, also an All-SEC Second Team honoree, led the Sooners with 15 tackles for loss and seven sacks.

There are also players who have yet to showcase their talents who are expected to flash and contribute in 2027. Wide receiver Mackenzie Alleyne (71), running back Lloyd Avant (82), offensive lineman Emarion Harris (79), defensive lineman Danny Okoye (76), defensive lineman Nigel Smith (75) and wide receiver Elijah Thomas (78) could see their ratings improve dramatically as the season progresses.
