Tennessee Titans interim coach Mike McCoy said quarterback Will Levis visited the team's facility about a month ago, marking his brief return after being away since the start of training camp.

McCoy said Levis "looked great" and was just about to start a throwing regimen. Levis, the Titans' starting quarterback in 2024, underwent surgery on his throwing shoulder in July that landed him on season-ending IR. He elected to handle his rehab away from the Titans' facility, spending more of his time in California. He has not been spotted at practice or in the Titans' locker room since OTAs and minicamp.

"I don't expect him in the next couple days to be in, but he was doing great," McCoy said Dec. 19. "He was doing great in his rehab."

Titans injury updates: Cedric Gray, Oluwafemi Oladejo and more

McCoy ruled out Gray, the Titans' leading tackler, against the Kansas City Chiefs on Dec. 21 (noon CT, CBS) at Nissan Stadium. Gray is in the concussion protocol after a hard hit he endured against San Francisco on Dec. 14, and he only was spotted on the practice field once in the week leading up to the game.

With Gray out, the Titans will turn to second-year linebacker James Williams Sr. Williams held the starting position over Gray for most of the offseason and training camp, but Gray overtook the job midway through the preseason. As a result, Williams has been sparsely used on defense, but has been a key contributor on special teams.

Second-round pick Oluwafemi Oladejo will not be active for the game despite having his return-to-play window opened to be elevated from injured reserve. The outside linebacker has been out with a leg injury since Week 6. Likewise, receiver Bryce Oliver will not be activated from IR. McCoy said outside linebacker Ali Gaye will be "questionable," leaving the possibility open that he'll be elevated from injured reserve to play in this contest. That said, the Titans would have to release a player to make space for Gaye on the active roster.
