Serena Williams is back at Wimbledon. Govern yourselves accordingly, tennis fans.
Williams is preparing for her first singles match in nearly four years as she inches toward a first-round match at Wimbledon. The last time she took the court for singles play was the 2022 U.S. Open.
Williams made her return to tennis at the Queen's Club, where she and doubles partner Victoria Mboko won their first-round match. The tennis great had to withdraw from the competition when Mboko injured her knee in a singles match.
Williams later partnered with Karolina Muchova for doubles at the Berlin Open before teaming up with sister Venus Wiliams for doubles play at Wimbledon.
"In general, my expectations are definitely different for the first time in my career," said the seven-time Wimbledon singles champion on June 28. "Not that I never enjoyed it before because I wouldn't be here today, but I'm gonna enjoy being out there."
Serena Williams plays in Wimbledon singles on Tuesday, June 30, against 20-year-old Australian Maya Joint.
Williams plays Joint on the Wimbledon center court at the All England Lawn Tennis Club at 11:20 a.m. ET (ESPN).
