It's nearly baseball season, Cincinnati!

The Cincinnati Reds and Major League Baseball's other 29 teams return to action this month.

The Reds will play their first game of the 2026 regular season on March 26 at Great American Ball Park, followed by a four-game homestand. The majority of the league also plays that day, with some games spilling into Friday. However, the actual MLB season kicks off a day earlier in San Francisco.

When is Opening Day 2026?​

The Reds' first game of the season is Thursday, March 26. Cincinnati will play a home opener against the Boston Red Sox at 4:10 p.m. ET at Great American Ball Park.

When is the Reds' Opening Day Parade?​

The annual Findlay Market Opening Day Parade in Over-the-Rhine kicks off at noon on March 26.

How to watch Reds Opening Day vs. Boston Red Sox​

The Cincinnati Reds announced March 9 that a "number of" regular-season games will be broadcast for free on Fox 19 (WXIX-TV) in Cincinnati. The first game under the new agreement will be the Reds' Opening Day matchup.

Additionally, fans in the Reds' regional TV territory can also stream games on Reds.TV through the MLB app. Fans who live outside the regional area can still watch by subscribing to MLB.TV. Visit mlb.com/reds for more information.

When does the 2026 MLB season start?​

The first game of the 2026 MLB season will be played in San Francisco. The New York Yankees will face the San Francisco Giants at Oracle Park on Wednesday, March 25. The first pitch is slated for 8:05 p.m. ET.

The game will be available for streaming exclusively on Netflix.

MLB Opening Day schedule 2026​

While the Yankees and Giants will kick things off a day earlier, MLB's traditional Opening Day will feature 24 of the 30 teams. The remainder of the MLB's Opening Day games will be played on Friday, March 27.
