When does training camp start for the Jacksonville Jaguars?

The Jacksonville Jaguars are less than a week away from the start of 2026 training camp.

Practice will begin on July 29 with rookies reporting on July 25 and veterans returning on July 28. That means Trevor Lawrence, Brian Thomas Jr., Travis Hunter, Travon Walker, Josh Hines-Allen and all of the other Jaguars will soon be returning to the field.

Ahead of the start of the preseason, here are some important things to know.

Will Jaguars training camp be open to fans?​

Yes, the Jaguars will open training camp practices for the public. That includes joint practice days against the Carolina Panthers and Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

Here are the dates that’ll be open:

• July 29 (Kickoff Day)
• July 30
• July 31 (Season ticket members only)
• Aug. 2
• Aug. 3
• Aug. 7
• Aug. 9
• Aug. 19 (Joint practice with Carolina Panthers)
• Aug. 23
• Aug. 25 (Joint practice with Tampa Bay Buccaneers)

Key preseason dates​

All times are EST.

July 25: Rookies report.

July 28: Veterans report.

July 29: First practice.

Aug. 13: Joint practice at New Orleans (10 a.m.).

Aug. 15: Preseason game at New Orleans (4 p.m.).

Aug. 19: Joint practice vs. Carolina (9:30 a.m.).

Aug. 21: Preseason game vs. Carolina (7:30 p.m.).

Aug. 25-26: Joint practices vs. Tampa Bay (9:30 a.m.).

Aug. 28: Preseason game vs. Tampa Bay (7:30 p.m.).

Aug. 30: Roster must be cut down to 43 players by 6 p.m.

Aug. 31: Teams can begin signing players to their practice squad.

Sept. 13: Season opener vs. Cleveland (1 p.m.).

Injury concerns entering camp​

In addition to cornerback/receiver Travis Hunter (right knee), three Jaguars did not participate in the offseason program:

CB Jourdan Lewis: Suffered a foot injury in the Week 16 win at Denver ended his season and required surgery. He did not practice during the offseason program.

LT Cole Van Lanen: Sustained a knee injury in the Week 18 win over Tennessee a day after signing a new contract. Like Lewis, he did not practice in the spring.

RB Chris Rodriguez: Broke a bone in his foot in early May that required surgery. He did not practice in the spring, but is expected to be ready for camp.

What were the Jaguars' biggest offseason moves?​

The Jaguars handed out several contract extensions, including the folllowing:

• DE Travon Walker: Walker signed a four-year, $110 million contract extension on April 3, 2026.
• CB Montaric Brown: Brown signed a three-year, $33 million extension on March 9, 2026.
• TE Brenton Strange: Strange signed a 3-year, $48 million contract extension with $25 million guaranteed on June 25, 2026.
• LB Dennis Gardeck: Gardeck signed a two-year, $6.5 million contract extension on March 12, 2026

The Jaguars weren't very active in free agency/trades, but notable moves included:

• RB Chris Rodriguez: Rodriguez signed a two-year, $10 million contract on March 26, 2026.
• RBAmeer Abdullah: Abdullah signed a one-year, $1.3 million contract on May 11, 2026.
• DL Ruke Orhorhoro: The Jaguars traded Maason Smith to the Atlanta Falcons for Orhorhoro.

The Jaguars lost two big pieces from the 2025 team. They are:

• RB Travis Etienne: Etienne left the Jaguars to sign a free agent contract with the New Orleans Saints for four years and $52 million.
• LB Devin Lloyd: Lloyd left the Jaguars to sign a three-year, $45 million contract with $25 million in guaranteed money with the Carolina Panthers.
