No. 3-seed Notre Dame women's basketball advanced to the NCAA Tournament Sweet 16 for the fourth straight year Sunday afternoon with a 76-55 victory over No. 6-seed Michigan at Purcell Pavilion.

The Irish (28-5) will now advance to the Birmingham Regional 3 to play no. 2-seed TCU (33-3), an 85-70 victor over 7-seed Louisville on Sunday. The game will be played Saturday at 1 p.m. p.m. (ABC).

The Irish and the Horned Frogs already have some history this season. TCU handed Notre Dame its first loss of the season, a 76-68 decision back on Nov. 29 in the Cayman Islands Classic just after Thanksgiving.

Louisville transfer Hailey Van Lith led TCU that day with 21 points while Sedona Prince scored 20 and Madison Conner 18.

The Irish were led by Hannah Hidalgo with 27 points, OlivIa Miles 16 and Sonia Citron 14. Notre Dame was still playing without grad/forward and starter Maddy Westbeld, who sat out the beginning of the season while recovering from foot surgery.

The winner of the Notre Dame-TCU game will play the winner of No. 1-seed Texas (33-3) vs. No. 5-seed Tennessee (24-9) (3:30 p.m., ABC). One of Texas' three losses came at the hands of Notre Dame on Dec. 5, an 80-70 overtime decision at Purcell Pavilion.
