We're taking a good look back at the big wins and standout performers from the past season and will be announcing the eighth annual Tom Whelan All-Sports Awards in the days ahead.
These are the nine athlete of the year finalists based on input from our staff. Ideally, our winner is a multi-sport headliner or a unique talent who's on the national radar. All of these standouts meet that standard. We're asking readers to vote in our poll and we'll include those results along with our choice for athlete of the year.
Vote for the athlete you believe had the biggest impact. The poll will close at 3 p.m. on Thursday, July 9.
