CANTON — The National Football League preseason kicks off in one month at Tom Benson Hall of Fame Stadium.
The Arizona Cardinals and the Carolina Panthers play in the annual Pro Football Hall of Fame Game at 8 p.m., Thursday, Aug. 6.
The Panthers and Cardinals, who each have strong ties to the Hall's Class of 2026, will open the preseason for the NFL's 107th season. The two teams also have played in significant previous Hall of Fame Games.
Tickets remain for the Cardinals-Panthers game. Here's everything you need to know about buying tickets to the game, the matchup and 2026 Enshrinement festivities.

Ticket packages are available that include on-field photo opportunities after the Hall of Fame Game, pictures on the Enshrinement stage Saturday and access to a special section to greet returning Hall of Famers as they arrive for the Enshrinement. Each team will be in Canton ahead of a big weekend for a player synonymous with their franchise. Larry Fitzgerald, who spent his entire 17-year NFL career with the Cardinals, is enshrined into the Hall two days after the Hall of Fame Game alongside Luke Kuechly, who played all eight of his NFL seasons with the Panthers. Fitzgerald was selected to 11 Pro Bowls and made the 2010s all-decade team. Kuechly made the Pro Bowl seven of his eight seasons and was All-Pro five times. Fitzgerald and Kuechly are part of a five-man class that also features Drew Brees, Roger Craig and Adam Vinatieri.
Mitchell Evans, a 2021 Wadsworth High School graduate, is a second-year tight end with the Panthers. As a rookie, he caught 19 passes for 171 yards and two touchdowns. The 6-foot-5, 260-pound former Notre Dame star was selected with the 27th pick in the fifth round by Carolina (pick No. 163 overall) in the 2025 NFL Draft.
Panthers wide receiver Tetairoa McMillan was the 2025 AP Offensive Rookie of the Year after helping the Panthers win the NFC South to earn a home playoff game. McMillan caught 70 passes for 1,014 yards and seven TDs, averaging 14.5 yards per catch. The Panthers were 8-10 overall last season after losing in the playoffs 34-31 to the Rams. Carolina QB Bryce Young passed for more than 3,000 yards and threw 23 TD passes. Head coach Dave Canales is entering his his third season with the Panthers.
Mike LaFleur was hired as the head coach of the Cardinals this past offseason. His older brother Matt is head coach of the Green Bay Packers. Mike LaFleur got his first NFL coaching job as an offensive intern in 2014 with the Cleveland Browns on the staff of head coach Mike Pettine.
Trey McBride earned first-team All-Pro honors in 2025 after making 126 catches to set the NFL’s single-season receptions record for a tight end. Other returning Cardinals offensive leaders include Marvin Harrison Jr., the son of a Pro Football Hall of Famer and one of six Ohio State Buckeyes on the Arizona roster. Defensively, Cardinals safety Budda Baker is an eight-time Pro Bowl selection.
The Cardinals also feature rookie running back Jeremiyah Love, the third overall pick in the 2026 NFL Draft. He earned first-team All-American honors last season at Notre Dame when he rushed for 1,372 yards and 18 TDs on 199 carries (6.9 average). He finished third in Heisman Trophy voting and left ND having rushing for 2,882 career yards, gained 3,472 total yards rushing and receiving, and scored 42 touchdowns.
This will be the sixth trip to Canton for the Cardinals, who are 1-3-1 in their previous appearances. The franchise, at the time based in St. Louis, holds the distinction of playing in the first Hall of Fame Game — played Aug. 11, 1962, more than a year before the museum opened. The Cardinals and New York Giants finished in a 21-21 tie, one of only two ties in the history of the game.
Carolina has not played in the Hall of Fame Game since the Panthers debut appearance in the NFL in 1995, playing fellow expansion franchise Jacksonville. In one of the most exciting Hall of Fame Games, the Panthers won 20-14 by holding the Jaguars out of the end zone from the 3 in the final seconds. A crowd of 24,625 — one of the largest in the game’s history — attended the game in Fawcett Stadium.
The teams played each other in Week 2 of the 2025 regular season in Arizona. The Cardinals survived a late Panthers rally to win 27-22. The Cardinals led the game 27-3 at one point.
