Luke Kuechly is going to have some company with him in Canton, Ohio this summer.
As announced on Wednesday, the Carolina Panthers will play the Arizona Cardinals in the very first preseason game of the 2026 campaign. The matchup will take place on Thursday, Aug. 6 at Tom Benson Hall of Fame Stadium—just ahead of this year's Pro Football Hall of Fame enshrinement ceremony.
The 2026 class, of course, includes Kuechly—who played for the franchise from 2012 to 2019. The former linebacker was named to the Hall in just his second year of eligibility.
He'll be joined by former Cardinals wide receiver Larry Fitzgerald as well as quarterback Drew Brees, running back Roger Craig and kicker Adam Vinatieri.
This will mark the second time the Panthers will appear in the game, with the first coming back in their inaugural season of 1995.
