All eyes are on Philadelphia as a big weekend for baseball gets underway. All-Star Game festivities got underway Friday, and today marks the start of the two-day 2026 MLB draft.
We'll see the first four rounds' worth of picks get made today starting with the Chicago White Sox, expected to take UCLA shortstop Roch Cholowsky with the first overall pick. While the NFL draft goes seven rounds deep over three nights, the MLB version packs 20 rounds into just two days.
Florida will be well represented as usual, with two high school stars potentially going in the top 10. How high will Gators pitcher Liam Peterson go? Could Florida State ace Wes Mendes or UCF outfielder Andrew Williamson break into the first round? How will season-ending injuries to sluggers Myles Bailey of FSU and Daniel Cuvet of Miami impact where they land?
