Michigan State hockey bounced back in a massive way on Saturday night, defeating Michigan in the Duel in the D, avenging a Friday night loss.

The win brings the Iron D trophy back to East Lansing for the third consecutive season. The Spartans have also taken first place in the Big Ten and will look to secure their third consecutive Big Ten title.

Here is what Michigan State head coach Adam Nightingale had to say after the win:

  • On winning 3 Duel in the D’s: “It’s a big moment for our team and we’re so lucky to play in these games.”
  • Nightingale to his message on ice afterwards: “You need to respect your opponent. Make sure you handle it with class.”
  • On the bounce back: “It’s not about the score, it’s about the process.”

Michigan State will get a bye week before hosting Notre Dame in East Lansing in a couple of weeks.
