Michigan State hockey has turned into a strong contender under Adam Nightingale's watch in East Lansing. While the Spartans head man is someone that can be thanked for the success, a big portion of the Spartans success can be attributed to assistant coach Jared DeMichiel.

DeMichiel has been with Nightingale from the start, coming to East Lansing after a very successful tenure as an assistant with UMass, winning a national championship in 2021. As a player at RIT, he was named the NCAA Tournament's most valuable player in 2010.

With all of his assistant coaching success, he is bound for a head coaching position at some point in time. That time might come now, with Harvard's head coaching position open and DeMichiel is a finalist.

Harvard is bound for a decision soon, and the Spartans will be eagerly awaiting whether or not their top assistant will be leaving.

Per @MikeMcMahonCHN Harvard is getting close to announcing their HC. MSU AC Jared DeMichiel has been talked to and I would assume is still at least in the mix for the position

I wouldn't guess the odds on favorite, but personally that would be a dynamite hire for the Crimson
