Carson has 2-3 good years left. Brady is 38 and still playing at a high level. I think that's a good indicator regarding Palmer. I'm sure they'll work something out with his cap hit tripling soon.

Thanks for the link Sissyboy, that was a great article. The more I read and learn about Carson Palmer the more impressed I become with who he is as not only our QB but as a human being.

Great article! I mentioned in another thread that it believe it's amazing and perhaps never happened before, that a franchise took on not one tossed aside veteran QB (Warner), but two (Palmer), and have them both produce at their best career performance levels, if not better!
For all the bad luck and bad breaks this team has had over its' history, the fact that we were able to secure Warner and then Palmer, and have them perform the way they have... Incredible!

Well 99' was clearly the best year in Warner's career, but I would say 2008 was pretty clearly the 2nd best year of his career. Also part of why these guys got tossed aside was that they were playing for bad teams at the time (Palmer's last year with Cincy and both years with Oakland, Warner's only year with the Giants in which he wasn't considered their future anyways). Warner's situation was a little different obviously because he was just supplanted by guys that were younger guys "with more upside" (Bulger and Eli).

Thank you Sissy Boy-----------your generosity for sharing that article with us is only surpassed by the brilliance of Dan Pompei in his writing of it. This was one of the most thorough and exhaustively written articles that I have EVER read about any player. I thought I had a pretty good grasp on who and what Carson Palmer was before I read this, but now I can say that I truly have come to know so much more of Carson Palmer the man. With as much as Pompei put into this article about the depth and breadth of Palmer, the man, I am amazed to be able to say that there was nothing in it that I didn't like or that I was not in awe of.

How very fortunate we are as fans, to be able to know that Palmer is the driving force on the field that is attempting to take our franchise into the wondrous and yet somehow seemingly so fitting realm of actually winning a Super Bowl. How righteous it would be for all the combined efforts of Michael Bidwill, Steve Keim, and Bruce Arians, to culminate into one magical season ending with such a perfectly supreme manner. I sometimes have to pinch myself to realize that I am actually living and participating in such heady times. Wow, this all seems so right, and so proper, and so fitting. Please, let this happen this time !!!!!!!!!

Palmer plays at a higher level than he usually gets credit for doing. That said, he's still got to win some playoff games if he wants to be thought of as special.
