Fresh off a 2-1 loss in the National Championship game to Denver, it's no surprise to see the Wisconsin Badgers men's hockey team ranked No. 2 in the final USCHO poll of the 2025-26 season.
In total, four Big Ten teams were in the Top 20, while Ohio State received the second-most votes of non-ranked teams.
Regardless, the Badgers came in at No. 2 with 914 points. Wisconsin had one more point than Michigan, the former No. 1 seed, which blew 2-1 and 3-2 leads to Denver in the Frozen Four.
Denver, the now 11-time National Champions, received all 50 first-place votes and ended the season ranked No. 1.
For Wisconsin, its jump from No. 12 to No. 2 is nothing short of incredible. No one expected the Badgers to make the Frozen Four, let alone defeat North Dakota and advance to the National Championship game. For reference, the Fighting Hawks fell from No. 2 to No. 4.
