New England Patriots linebacker K’Lavon Chaisson is heading into what could be the most lucrative free agency of his career.
Chaisson signed a one-year, $3 million deal with the Patriots on March 17, 2025. The 26-year-old started in 10 of the 16 games he played for New England last season. Chaisson recorded a career-high 7.5 sacks on the Patriots' defense. He made franchise history with the three sacks he recorded in the 2025 postseason, moving to No. 9 on the Patriots’ all-time playoff sacks list.
Chaisson has a wealth of achievements to bring to the negotiating table starting March 9.
Spotrac currently estimates the Texas native’s projected market value to be $9 million annually ahead of free agency.
The only other deal that paid Chaisson an average annual salary over $3 million was the four-year, $13.3 million rookie deal he signed with the Jacksonville Jaguars in 2020. The Patriots have $40.5 million in cap space to use to make Chaisson a convincing offer to stay in New England against the NFL’s competitive open market.
