3 wins last year with the same offensive unit and same defensive philosophy.

Also this elite skill position squad couldn't put points on the board and win last season.

They got a bunch of garbage time stats but couldn't move the ball when it mattered in the redzone and to actually close out and win games.

I hope im wrong but there is a reason we are underdogs in every game this season.

"Elite" funniest crap I've read here in a while.
It’s not the same. Love makes a ton of difference. Take mccaffrey off the Niners and they are way easier to beat.

Nobody in their right mind can actually think we deserve to be underdogs to the jets.

I hate to write this but I think 3-4 wins is realistic. I wanted to add I actually think this team is improved. I just don’t think even a good team wins much with this schedule.
Have to admit this is the most brutal schedule I have ever seen.

If cards lose first 3 or 4 the momentum probably kills the season.

It’s a little bit of a leap to assume that Love is going to be a top 5 RB out the gate, right?

In most situations, a new head coach pretty much gets a free pass in year 1 because both the GM and HC are new. The bar is pretty much don't be an embarrassment. By retaining Monti, Bidwill has blurred this line a bit which almost results in different expectations for Monti than MLF. In year 4, the roster should not continue to lose because it lacks talent. That's a GMs job. However, the first time HC isn't having a say in the talent he is given so I can't put that on him. In this case, you are argue that MLF gets evaluated on the production of the offense, and the effort of the defense. But even then, it gets very convoluted with the retention of Rallis.

I would say that over 50% of NFL GMs survive their first HC getting fired. I don't think that it is that uncommon or any lines are being blurred.

My man we had a first ballot hall of fame WR for more than a decade and it didn’t make a difference in the grand scheme of things.

Also CMC didn’t do squat for the Panthers hence why they traded him.

Don’t get me wrong I’m really hoping MLF is a difference maker but I have no idea if he is a good coach yet.

Lastly we are not and never will be the Niners.

Yeah most GMs don’t have the record of incompetence that Monti has compiled.

Basically Monti has done nothing to earn anyone’s faith or trust. His big Year One trade didn’t work out; he didn’t find an alternative to Kyler Murray, his tampered HC was a dud.

I don't believe this is common for GMs whose career record is 15-36.

The Cardinals very own Jason Licht who became the GM of the Bucs in 2014 went through 5 seasons and 2 coaches before talking BA out of retirement. Licht didn't have a playoff appearance until the 2020 season which was his 7th year as the Bucs GM.

Yes, but they fired Lovie Smith at the end of his 2nd year as GM, and then won 9 games in year 1 with Dirk Koetter. All of that said, after 4 seasons Licht was 22-42 and they kept chugging along with him so you are not wrong and this would be an example of a "bad GM" becoming a "good GM" 6 years in and with his 3rd HC.
