Midweek baseball wasn't kind to Louisiana baseball this week after it traveled to Hammond to face Southeastern Louisiana for the second meeting of the season.
The Ragin’ Cajuns (9-13, 1-2 SBC) took the first matchup, but this go-round they went cold offensively, avoiding a shutout but still losing 7-1 to the Lions. They will look to have short-term memory as their road trip continues onto Mobile, Alabama, to resume Sun Belt Conference play against South Alabama.
The Jaguars (10-10, 03) are also licking their wounds from midweek competition after getting so close to pulling off an upset versus No. 12 Alabama on Tuesday. They lost the game 6-5 after going into extra innings with the Crimson Tide.
With chips on both teams' shoulders and a shaky start to Sun Belt play for both, their three-game series will likely be a barn-burner every game. For the Cajuns, they will be looking to find a spark in their offense, which has been spotty to start this season so far.
