The 2026 MLB Draft begins with Day 1 in Philadelphia and rounds 1 through 5, starting with the Chicago White Sox at No. 1 overall.

UCLA shortstop Roch Cholowsky and Texas high school infielder Grady Emerson have been tabbed by expert mock drafts as the top two prospects in the draft.

The overall class appears to be top-heavy with college bats, including Georgia Tech catcher Vahn Lackey.

Day 1 includes the first four rounds, 135 picks overall. On July 12, rounds 5 through 20 will take place ahead of the star of All-Star festivities.

The 2026 MLB Draft first round will be broadcast nationally on NBC (picks 1 through 10) and MLB Network (through the rest of the first round and competitive round A). Streaming options for the event include Peacock for picks 1 through 10 and MLB.com/MLB.TV for the rest of Day 1.
