OMAHA, Neb. — Georgia baseball will get about 21 hours before turning around to play another must-win game in the College World Series on Wednesday night.
After ending Texas’ season, 2-0, Tuesday night, the Bulldogs will return to Charles Schwab Field to play Oklahoma.
The Bulldogs lost to the Sooners, 4-3, on Monday and now must beat them in back-to-back nights to advance to the CWS finals.
“We’ve just got to keep believing in ourselves and we’ve got to go into (Wednesday) with a whole lot of confidence we can do it,” Georgia reliever Justin Byrd said.
Coach Skip Johnson said Tuesday that freshman Nick Wesloski will start for Oklahoma (40-22).
Georgia (53-13) won 13-12 and 11-9 to win the super regional in Athens and won in a low-scoring game Tuesday.
“Good teams can win in very different ways,” outfielder Ryan Black said. “We can beat you with the long ball and we beat you with just competing with good (at-bats).”
Georgia will play Oklahoma on ESPN. Announcers for the game are Karl Ravech, Kyle Peterson, Chris Burke and Kris Budden.
Georgia and Oklahoma will play at Charles Schwab Field at 7 p.m. Wednesday.
