The stakes are high for Florida State softball, which faces a win-or-go-home scenario for the remainder of the NCAA Softball Tallahassee regional after being upset 8-3 by Stetson.
The 9-seeded Seminoles (49-9) had no answer for a powerful Stetson offense, which mashed two home runs and recorded 12 hits. FSU hit a pair of home runs, a two-run blast from Ashtyn Danley and a solo home run from Anna Hinde, but generated little offense outside of that.
It was the first time Stetson had beaten FSU since 1987, and the Seminoles first opening round regional loss since 2012.

Now, FSU faces Jacksonville State, which was an out away from an upset over UCF before the Knights tied the game in the seventh and eventually won, 2-1 in eight innings.
