Bryson DeChambeau has now missed his third cut in his last four major championship starts, with the LIV Golf star set to miss out on playing on the weekend at the PGA Championship.
Despite a miserable first round of 76, DeChambeau went into Friday with an opportunity to still make the cut.
The leaders failed to make a significant move away from the field at Aronimink. And those who were four over par spent much of Friday looking set to be fine.
DeChambeau, however, was four over par for the day by the time he reached the 16th tee. Three successive birdies were not enough to salvage the week.

It is another setback for the two-time US Open champion. Few will forget the manner in which DeChambeau ended up missing the cut at The Masters last month.
Journalist Ben Parsons has now revealed on X what DeChambeau did after finishing his second round.

He posted: ‘Bryson signed tons of autographs before even getting to scoring after missing the cut. He then politely declined media and rushed off out of here.’
DeChambeau’s conduct at Aronimink will have done LIV Golf few favours
DeChambeau would have made a lot of fans extremely happy by signing so many autographs. A lot of players would have walked straight off, done what they needed to do, and then left Aronimink as quickly as they could in similar circumstances.
However, his week will have done LIV Golf few favours.
LIV seems to be on the brink right now. Certainly, the days of the league as we know it are numbered.
Not only does it not help LIV to have their biggest superstar miss another cut in the majors, but it probably does not help that he has skipped doing media all week.
He is LIV’s most notable spokesman, particularly when on a major championship stage. So he could have handed the league a much-needed boost by reiterating his commitment to being open to staying.
Unfortunately, it proved to be yet another week in a major that DeChambeau will want to forget quickly.
