The PGA Championship at Aronimink Golf Club is looking at a historically crowded top of the leaderboard. So, it's looking likely that 72 holes might not be enough to decide who gets to lift the Wanamaker Trophy.
If two or more golfers are tied after the completion of Sunday's final round, we'll be looking at a playoff to determine the PGA Championship.
The rules are simple.
The tied golfers will compete in a three-hole playoff on holes No. 10, 17 and 18 (in that order). If two or more golfers are still tied after those three playoff holes, they will replay the 18th hole on repeat in a sudden-death format until someone wins.
The initial three playoff holes, though, would be an aggregate scoring — not sudden death.
The last time the PGA Championship went into a playoff was back in 2022 when Justin Thomas beat Will Zalatoris for the title.
