I think Monti to trade down and grab a RT. I am curious on the compensation as it seems few want to trade 2027 assets and what team would actually move up.

Side note. I don’t see it with Downs. I like the idea of him less than Love. I also wonder about adding any defensive player high as Rallis likely gets fired after the season and a new DC will be hired.

I'm a always trade down person

feels like 10 is the place where the perceived talent drops a tier, so thats a resistance line

but if someone in the teens wants to give up a ton of picks, including premium 2027 picks to get to #3, that works too

the next GM can make good use of those
I think the unwillingness to include 2027 premium picks is what will kill a lot of trades.

I feel there are only a few players really worth drafting at #3. Asside from Mendoza going one, the next group of guys is Bailey, Bain, Downs, Love, and Styles with Reese drawing some interest as well. If I was drafting #10-15, I wouldn't trade up for any of these guys except Love assuming that is what I was needing. But there are a lot of teams needing a DL and Edge too so I have a 75% chance we are moving down.

If we can make a lot of smoke, I can see the Cardinals trading #3 (2,200 points) with Tennessee for their #4 (1,800) and #35 (550) picks since they need a RB. If we have to, we can toss in the 6th or 7th pick which aren't worth much.

We can then package something to move back up into the middle of the first round to pick Simpson.

Who are the Rams moving up for? And yes.
Love. Believe me, Im nearly alone on that hill among my fellow fans. The Rams’ skill positions are overrated as individuals, but it works so well because McVay gets the max from fringe or average talent. Kyren Williams is nothing special. This OL opens gaping holes and he gets ankle tackled 8 yards downfield.

There are no home run hitters on our offense besides Nacua. It’s WAY too reliant on Stafford’s arm to make big plays.

Love is the best offensive player in the draft. Having an elite RB could extend Stafford’s career. McVay’s offense was never better than when he had an elite RB(Gurley).

Hope that makes sense.

I don't think the Jets pass on Bailey. When I make that trade, Bailey is gone.
Then you take either Love or Downs. I know I said I didn't want a S that high, and usually wouldn't want a RB in the 1st, but you take top talent when it's available. The Monti way of hoarding depth talent and eschewing top talent is a hideous failure.

Can’t believe we are going to pass up on another possible superstar player for a maybe average lineman or linebacker.

When we’ve had great players we have done well.

Dhop
JJ
Fitz
Calais
Boldin
Adub
Dockett
Warner
Palmer

That is a very short list but they were major and consistent contributors.

MO hasn’t drafted nor brought in a single star since being here and has passed on some.

You don’t build a team around average talent.

It's who you take, it isn't the process that's the issue.

You can look at every one of those trades and if you took different players, the trade looks a lot better.

I like Love, but not with this OL.

You know what...the more I think about it, the more I can't ignore that taking Love MIGHT be the right decision if Bailey is gone.

take Love...then package a 4th or 5th with pick 34 to move back into round 1 and get an OT

its a simple equation.

The only trade I see happening is the Cowboys trading 12 and 20 for 3 if the Edge they want is there. If not, they move on to nab Crosby.

Monti is allergic to top talent. If we had the Rams GM, I'd be all for trading back. We don't. Stick and pick.
