Something is wrong with Cal Raleigh.
It may not be totally clear yet what it is, but the Seattle Mariners' catcher is now out of the lineup for a second game in a row. Whatever injury is ailing him, it doesn't seem to be going away quickly.
The Mariners are starting Jhonny Pereda at catcher on Sunday. They called Pereda up on Saturday, which was the first signal that something might be wrong.
Mitch Garver, the regular backup, started on Saturday night, but Pereda gets the action on Sunday in the day game following a night game.

What's wrong with Cal Raleigh?
The Mariners shared Saturday night that Raleigh was scratched from their lineup due to "general soreness."
He also underwent imaging, for which the Mariners didn't yet have information on Saturday night.
Cal Raleigh exited with “general soreness” and is awaiting results from imaging, Dan Wilson just said.
But he didn’t specify what Raleigh is dealing with or how the issue came about.

Raleigh got off to a slow start this season, but he had started to warm up. He had a stretch of five home runs in seven games that showed optimism for the rest of the season.
But now, this is an odd setback that isn't clear yet whether it will resolve itself quickly.
The Mariners will be hoping for the best, but for now, Raleigh isn't in the lineup.
