West Ham thrash Wolves to climb out of relegation zone
West Ham produced a dominant second-half showing to beat Wolverhampton 4-0 at the London Stadium in Premier League 25/26, fixture 32. Despite having less possession, the home side were more clinical and made the most of their chances to secure a convincing result.
The breakthrough came on 42 minutes, when Konstantinos Mavropanos headed home from a Jarrod Bowen corner to give West Ham a 1-0 lead. Bowen?s delivery earned him his seventh assist of the competition, and the hosts went in front with a goal that reflected their threat from set pieces.
After the interval, West Ham took full control. Valentín Castellanos struck twice in quick succession, first on 66 minutes after a Pablo Felipe assist from a fast break, and then again two minutes later with Bowen involved once more. Those goals effectively settled the contest as Wolves struggled to respond.
Mavropanos added a fourth on 83 minutes, finishing from close range after another corner to complete the rout. West Ham finished with 18 shots, seven on target and 2.03 expected goals, while Wolverhampton managed 11 attempts and just 0.52 expected goals in a night to forget.
