The Diamondbacks have signed right-hander Junior Guerra to a one-year deal worth $2.55 million. The contract includes a club option with a $100,000 buyout, bringing the total value to $2.65 million.

#DBacks in agreement with free-agent RHP Junior Guerra, pending physical, source confirms. Deal is for one year and an option, but Guerra is under control for three more years. #Brewers non-tendered him rather than pay projected arbitration salary of $3.5M. First:

Our weakest area, as it turned out, were the 7-8-9 inning setup/closers.
I hope this is step #1 to remedy that.
We still desperately need a dependable 9th inning closer.
Previous closers, who made every 9th inning an adventure,
like Archie, were all eventually moved.
We need more than a beard to save games. We need peace
of mind. And being in control.

Okay spot starter/middle inning reliever along the lines of a better Merrill Kelly. Meh.
