Burch played 39%. He is EDGE 4, clearly. His role fluctuates with Browning based on run defense needs.Looks like Burch got put into the dog house
A lot less 3 S looks with Williams back. They had a S covering the slot role with GWill out.Why did DTD get so few snaps?![]()
In theory, Drob should do better as a powerful edge... His college tape was basically bull rush, which doesn't work as well against the stronger interior guys.We saw it a little this week but I think you will see more of DRob playing more outside with the return of Nolen. He has to get better disengaging from blockers, and tends to get swallowed up inside.
I like him better in that role. Brit and I agreed on that when the Cardinals drafted him. That said, he needs to get better quickly to be a player counted on in the offseason. In theory, Drob should do better as a powerful edge... A fleet flooted tackle, not a power run blocking tackle, is exactly who Drob will succeed against until he develops better rush moves.
Even though he has faded lately, Burch at least showed more the first two weeks of the season than DRob has his career so far.For those concerned about DRob and Burch, just remember that they are young. Burch played DL almost exclusively in college. Playing in space is very new to him. DRob had his most productive year playing more of a 4-3 DE role in college and was raw as a pass rusher. These things take time to develop. Like Zaven Collins, this can take time to develop. (Separate convo if it is smart to use a top 32 pick on a player like that).
3 - Higgins last three games were at 45%, 42% and 40%, so somewhat consistent of late.On offense
3 - 40% Higgins was and interesting adjustment.
4 - 72% MHJ also interesting.
Melton left the game with a concussion. Burke got the reps. Thanks for starting this thread, i was just writing up my analysis:
Offense:
1. RB's split 57% Bam Knight, 40% Michael Carter. Sympathy for all of you that got stuck starting Michael Carter in a pinch on their Fantasy teams (like I did)
2. Beachum was in for 36% of snaps, ostensibly in our Jumbo package. The most usage for him in this role to date.
Defense:
1. Garrett Williams jumped right back in for 81% of Snaps. No pitch count here.
2. Denzel Burke also was in for 58% of plays, biggest snap count since week 4.
3. Max Melton, who had been playing almost every snap, saw his usage drip to only 39%
4. Calais was used more in this game than any other. Seemed to hold up just fine at the end to me.
5. Walter Nolan at 55% is up there with the highest usage of any of our D-Lineman has seen this season. No pitch-count here either.
6. Mack Wilson went out for injury and only played 75% of Defensive snaps. Those are the first plays he's missed this season. If he is out for an extended time, this may hurt.
7. It looks like Cody Simon picked up the slack for Mack Wilson. I'll defer to those that watch tape as to his effectiveness, but he was only on the field for 3 plays this season, prior to 20 snaps on Monday night.
8. Was Demerson injured last night? He was only on the field for 8 snaps after playing nearly 50% of plays all season.
Agreed. The best hope is that DRob, like Zaven Collins who I keep comparing him to, is a worker who will continue to get better even if it never matches up with the draft equity used on him. Not ideal but also not the worst. The 2024 draft class (league in general) is not looking like a great group.Even though he has faded lately, Burch at least showed more the first two weeks of the season than DRob has his career so far.

Thanks. I don't remember seeing that.Melton left the game with a concussion. Burke got the reps.
Bam only had 9 carries. Demercado 14 carries. Thanks for starting this thread, i was just writing up my analysis:

If his cap is ZC, that is not good.Agreed.
