We know what offer the Flyers rejected from Blues in Robert Thomas trade originally appeared on The Sporting News. Add The Sporting News as a Preferred Source by clicking here.
The Philadelphia Flyers apparently wanted Robert Thomas before March's NHL trade deadline.
A deal never happened, though, and it sounds like the asking price of the St. Louis Blues was sky high.
The Athletic's Kevin Kurz provided insight in a new article about exactly what the Blues wanted for Thomas.
The deal Kurz laid out would've sent Porter Martone, Jack Nesbitt and a first-round pick from Philly to St. Louis in exchange for Thomas.
Up to that point, Martone hadn't yet played in the NHL. But he showed when immediately thrown into the playoff fire that he's up to the task, and he's got impressive potential.
Nesbitt was just the No. 12 overall pick in the 2025 NHL Draft, and he played another season in the OHL for the Windsor Spitfires in 2025-26. He has put up a point per game in each of the last two seasons as a center for the Spitfires.

Adding a first-round pick to the equation likely felt like far too much for Philadelphia.
In some ways, it's fair for the Blues to ask big for a player as talented as Thomas.
On the flip side, though, you can see why Philadelphia would stand pat. The two players they were asked for are both not just first-round talents, but the kind of guys who get picked near the top of any draft.
Martone clearly is a highly prized commodity for the Flyers, and there's no reason for the hype to be slowing on Nesbitt, either.
Just those two guys for Thomas likely would've been a tough ask, and wanting a pick in there surely put it over the top in the wrong direction.
The Blues may shop Thomas again this summer, but if the asking price is that high again, it could be tough to move him.
