The Texas Longhorns have completed their first day of fall practice in the afternoon heat in Austin. UT quarterback Arch Manning took centerstage as the Horns get ready for what could be a very special season on the Forty Acres.
There are position battles happening at several positions as coaches evaluate the current Longhorns depth chart to see who might be rising or falling.
Day 1 was highlighted by several Manning bombs, a doubled over freshman John Meredith III and some big plays by the transfer class. We got a peak at some new numbers, new players and several new coaches, including Will Muschamp and Mark Stoops.
It seems like Dia Bell has pulled ahead of transfer MJ Morris for the No. 3 QB spot. Meanwhile, Western Kentucky transfer Laurence Seymore is in an epic battle for the starting left guard spot with Jaydon Chatman and Devin Coleman.
The coaches coached hard on the first day of fall camp and the players responded, despite the extreme heat.
