Air travelers aboard an American Airlines flight earlier this week got a surprise when none other than Jake Oettinger manned the PA to make an announcement.

The Stars' goalie was part of the airliner's promotion of its new high-speed onboard WiFi available for free to AA's "AAdvantage" members.

"AA members can now enjoy free high-speed WiFi on American flights," Oettinger announced. "Pretty awesome, right?"

Oettinger was met with applause from the planegoers after he wrapped up his address.

The Stars' goalie is likely racking up the frequent flier miles as Dallas finishes off the last of its regular season schedule before the playoffs.

The Stars are currently amid an East Coast road trip with stops in New York, Pittsburgh, Philadelphia and Boston before finally returning home to Dallas the first week of April.

Dallas is currently in second place in the Western Conference with 10 games left in the regular season.
