The Washington Commanders are battling the Dallas Cowboys in an NFC East matchup on Christmas Day. While both teams are out of playoff contention, you couldn't tell that from the effort of players on both teams.

The Cowboys have led from the start, but Washington quarterback Josh Johnson has done his best to keep the Commanders' offense afloat. He's had some help from wide receiver Deebo Samuel. And while the running lanes haven't been as wide for Washington as in recent weeks, rookie running back Jacory Croskey-Merritt has found his way into the end zone twice already.

The first touchdown run showcased Croskey-Merritt's cutting ability, giving the Commanders their first score.

Down 24-10 in the third quarter, legendary former Washington running back Clinton Portis joined the Netflix broadcast crew at the perfect time. Croskey-Merritt took the Johnson handoff and burst across the line of scrimmage, outrunning the entire Dallas defense for a 72-yard touchdown.

Croskey-Merritt's second touchdown made it a one-score game. Through three quarters, Croskey-Merritt, aka Bill, has 96 rushing yards on just nine attempts and two touchdowns.
