On Sunday, the Los Angeles Lakers faced the Miami Heat in their second summer league game at the California Classic. In their first game on Friday, Cameron Carr, the rookie guard who was the No. 24 pick in this year's NBA draft, looked as good as advertised with 19 points on 7-of-15 shooting and 5-of-11 from 3-point range.

On Sunday, he picked up where he left off. He started off a bit quietly in the first quarter as Los Angeles fell behind 26-17 at the end of the first quarter. Carr made a jumper from the free throw line for the first basket of the game, then later in the period, he hit a 3-pointer.

He then started to heat up in the second quarter with seven points by getting fouled on a transition layup attempt, another 3-pointer and a mid-range jumper. In the third quarter, he had six points on a technical foul free throw, a free throw after getting fouled on a 3-point attempt and a dunk off a dribble drive.

Carr added two more triples and scored eight points overall in the fourth quarter as the Lakers fought back from a 12-point deficit to force overtime. Chris Mañon's layup with 28 seconds left tied the game and took it to extra periods.

This game went into sudden-death double overtime, and while Carr didn't score a point after the end of regulation, he was involved in the final play. He attempted a 14-footer for the win, and after it missed, big man Anton Watson scored on a putback to give the Lakers a 93-91 win.

Overall, Carr scored 26 points on 7-of-16 overall shooting, 4 of 9 from 3-point range and 4 of 5 from the free throw line. He also got eight rebounds and had one assist.

Second-year Adou Thiero was second on the Lakers in scoring with 13 points, although he was 3-of-9 from the field and 4-of-7 from the free throw line. Watson and Mañon each had a dozen points, and forward AK Okereke, an undrafted rookie who was recently given a two-way contract, had seven points and two rebounds in 18 minutes.

The Lakers will play the San Antonio Spurs on Monday to wrap up their California Classic schedule. They will then head to Las Vegas for the NBA's main summer league, which starts for them with a matchup versus the Oklahoma City Thunder on Friday, July 10.
