Former Baylor guard Cameron Carr, the 24th pick in the 2026 NBA draft, has signed his rookie contract with the Los Angeles Lakers, the team announced.

Carr was named to the All-Big 12 third team, averaging 18.9 points, 5.8 rebounds, 2.6 assists and 1.3 steals while shooting 37.4% from 3-point range in 34 games. He finished with 642 points, the fifth-most in a season in program history.

The 6-foot-5 guard played at Tennessee during his freshman year before redshirting last season after suffering a left thumb injury in November 2024. He also earned a selection to the Big 12 All-Newcomer team for his play with the Bears.

Carr established himself as a first-round pick after a productive year, in which he set the program scoring record for a sophomore. While his 3-point shooting stood out, Carr flourished as an overall scorer, mixing in shots from all three levels.

The 21-year-old joins a Lakers team expected to undergo a transformation. While LeBron James is on his way out, the group has reportedly added Quentin Grimes, Jaden Hardy, Walker Kessler, Sandro Mamukelashvili and Collin Sexton.

Carr will suit up with the Lakers in the three-day California Classic, which tips off on Friday. The group will also play at least five games in the NBA Summer League, beginning on July 10.
