New Washington Huskies center Tilda Trygger will suit up for Sweden's national team ahead of the EuroBasket Women 2027 tournament next June.
Fresh off averaging a career-high 10.7 points and 7 rebounds per game last season at North Carolina State as a sophomore, Trygger will be with Sweden for three consecutive training camps from July 28 to August 17. In between, the national team will play a pair of games from August 6-7 against Latvia and Finland.
Trygger has extensive experience playing for her country in Stockholm, Sweden, though she's only made three appearances for the senior national team dating back to the 2025 EuroBasket group stage.
However, the UW transfer addition from NC State made 28 appearances for Sweden's youth national team between 2022-25, working her way up from averaging 7.7 points and 7.4 rebounds in the 2022 FIBA U18 Women's European Championship to being a double-double machine in the FIBA U20 Women's EuroBasket tournament in 2025.
Trygger's parents, Paul and Ulrika, have made the trek across the Atlantic to see their daughter play for the Wolfpack---a journey worth every penny, and one that might be even harder to make with her moving across the country to continue her college basketball career in Seattle for coach Tina Langley.
Last season, Trygger proved to be a dominant big for NC State coach Wes Moore, as the sophomore helped the ACC school reach the Round of 32 in the NCAA Tournament before losing 92-63 to Michigan.
Trygger is one of four transfer additions for Langley ahead of the 2026-27 season, along with freshman forward Kaelyn Carroll (Kentucky), sophomore guards Macey Huard (Oklahoma State) and Brooke Carlson (Colorado State), and international signing, Hungarian guard Petra Toman.
