Washington Huskies ace Morgan Reimer has added D1Softball's National Pitcher of the Week award to her resume as she continues to establish herself as one of the nation's best arms during her sophomore season.

As the Huskies won four consecutive games to extend their winning streak to 16, Reimer won all four and worked 16 innings in the circle and posted a 1.75 ERA as the Huskies earned a win over North Dakota and a sweep at Michigan, while she added 17 strikeouts.

Her most recent win, a 10-7 victory over the Wolverines on Sunday, in which Reimer pitched the final four innings and allowed an unearned run on 3 hits with 4 strikeouts, was her 17th of the year and surpassed the 16 wins she compiled across 32 appearances during her freshman season. That tied her with Florida's Keagan Rothrock for the nation's most victories; however, Reimer only has 1 loss while Rothrock has 2.

Reimer's 1.47 ERA is good for second in the Big Ten, only behind Nebraska's Jordy Frahm, the reigning National Player of the Year, while she's also worked a conference-high 94 innings pitched. Her 6 complete games and 3 shutouts are tied for No. 3 in the conference, while her 76 strikeouts are good for No. 7.

Reimer got a well-deserved day off during Washington's 7-0 victory over Loyola Chicago, and with Big Ten play set to resume on Friday when the Huskies travel to Iowa, coach Heather Tarr will certainly lean heavily on her ace in the coming weeks.

After their trip to Iowa City, the Huskies will head to California for two games with the Stanford Cardinal and two games with Saint Mary's before the nonconference slate wraps up.
