The Washington Huskies appear to be on the verge of building one of the nation's best wide receiver classes in the 2027 cycle.
Jedd Fisch and position coach Kevin Cummings hold commitments from three four-star prospects: Tre Moore, Braylon Pope, and Zerek Sidney, and are heavy favorites to land another pledge on Friday night when four-star wide receiver Dontay Tyson makes his decision public.
The nation's No. 325 overall prospect and No. 42 wide receiver, according to the 247Sports Composite, took an official visit to Seattle on May 29 and will be choosing between the Huskies and Texas A&M, where he's scheduled to visit on June 12.
Washington received a crystal ball to land his commitment shortly after his visit from 247Sports' Blair Angulo on June 1, and on Friday, the Huskies got two more when Rivals' Blair Angulo and Brandon Huffman both locked in crystal balls for the Huskies to land the talented, physical 6-foot-1, 190-pound prospect.
"He really excels on go routes and wide receiver screens and has home run hitting ability," Biggins wrote in an evaluation of Tyson while with 247Sports.
"He’s strong in the air with excellent body control and routinely wins 50-50 jump balls. He uses his body well to shield smaller defensive backs and is tough to bring down in the open field. He has strong hands as well and catches the ball through contact."
That skill set, combined with his athleticism and route-running ability, gives Tyson the ability to be a versatile threat in Washington's offense to the point where he could potentially take snaps at both the X and Z positions, as well as in the slot.
If Tyson does choose the Huskies over his 19 other offers, he'd be the 13th high school receiver to commit to Washington over Fisch's three full recruiting cycles on Montlake.
